'Magic' and Me. 1st place at Rugby Riding Club
Magic was given to me in 1997 as a 15 year old retired hunter and enjoyed 3 or 4 years out at grass. I then started to hack Magic out and do some schooling and jumping at home, he really seemed to enjoy the work and stayed sound despite a couple of old splints, windgalls etc. (He'd had quite a hard life!). In 2006 we started showjumping at Riding Club level, we only attempted 2' - 2' 6" but it was obvious that Magic loved it and he was quite successful.
I then trained in Equine Sports Massage and used Magic as one of my case studies, the difference in him was quite incredible. He became more supple, developed more muscle and moved more freely. The effects have been very apparent in his competition success. In 2008 Magic was consistently placed or won 2' 9" - 3' show jumping classes, winning 2 end of season trophies at Atherstone Riding Club, he completed 3 ODE's, coming 2nd in one, he won an Intermediate Hunter Trials and also won his one and only Working Hunter class. We represented Atherstone RC at Intermediate level twice (team 5th at Moreton Morrell) plus we have enjoyed a few great days out hunting - not bad for a 27 year old!! I shall continue to massage him regularly and he is now on a high spec joint supplement as he has a little arthritis, but I intend to keep him working and competing for a little while longer, just as long as he continues to enjoy it - which anyone who has seen him at the shows will know he does!

On-Site Chair Massage at
Stoke Golding Music Festival!
Saturday 19th July saw the 1st Charity Music Festival in Stoke Golding. I had a small stand offering 10 minute chair massages to any one feeling in need of a little relaxation but also treated any problems from frozen shoulder to calf strain. I hope that everyone enjoyed their treatments and would like to thank you all for giving it a go! Luckily, despite the wind, the gazebo held out till the very end before collapsing and almost being blown away.
The massage chair enables me to perform a short, brisk and convenient treatment that can be taken in the workplace, fitting into a break or lunch hour (or in a windy field!) It is a great way to relax, calm, harmonise and re-balance the body plus helping to relieve tight muscles and knots. Taken regularly it will help to combat work related stress.
